Michela Crisostomi

Michela Crisostomi was born in Terni in 1976. In 1996 she graduated from the Art Institute of Terni. She then moved to the city of Florence and entered the world renowned Academy of Fine Arts, "School of Painting" where she earned her bachelor's degree in 2000 from Prof. Gustavo Giulletti. The experience of the Academy is definitely training for the technique, but also for the evolution of the soul. In Florence, the artist developed her own form of language, in experiencing the immense cultural and artistic heritage of the city, both contemporary currents of the academic environment. The historical memories of the city give life to the theme of "Finding" that grows in the artist's works, ancient images suspended, trapped in old walls, belonging to the form of time and space. New icons, the bring meaning to the contemporary interpretation of the ancient icon, intense figures that emerge in part and in part are lost, mingling with what is below, stratifications, as in our minds, layers of experience, knowledge and emotions of old and new. From 2000 to 2012 Michela Crisostomi has been involved in several significant events, including the most recent GOLD PLATE OF THE CITY 'OF SULMONA for the Sulmona Prize edition of 2011, numerous national and international exhibitions, such as Affordable Fair, Amsterdam 2010, 2011; the 14th .Beijing International Art Exposition in Beijing 2011; Open Art Fair Utrecht 2010, 2011, St'art Strasbourg 2011; EXIBITHIA SPACE ART LUXEMBOURG; Arte Genova 2010, 2011; Affordable Art Fair Milan 2011, 2012. One Man Shows at THE "GALLERY CARRE'DORE 'in Rue Princesse Caroline of Monaco, Nov.2011. In January 2012 she exhibited in the ITALIAN PADIGLION at the 54th INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION OF VENICE BIENNIAL, and in Turin Palace of Expositions. From 2000 to 2003 she worked for the "Gryons", cartoon animation manufacturer in Amelia, as a stop motion animator and constructer of scenes. From 2003 to 2004 she taught drawing and painting at "The Art School" in Terni From 2008 to 2010 she worked at the Assosciazione Project Interamna. Technique: where fabric is woven with acrylic plaster, then stretched and scratched. The figures are made of acrylic and brush and then sprayed with a toothbrush.
